Kiki is the creator of The Educator’s Workshop, a venture dedicated to bringing fun, play, and hands-on learning into classrooms through educational games, tools, and teacher training. Formerly the Director of Education at Microsoft MakeCode, Kiki is also the author of Let’s all Teach Computer Science, Computational Thinking and Coding for Every Student, and My First Coding Book. Her work has helped shape computer science education for millions of students and teachers worldwide. A passionate advocate for equity in STEM, Kiki continues to explore ways that AI, personalized learning, and inclusive practices can transform education for the better. Her contributions have earned her such honors as the Google RISE Award and the Stevie Award for Female Innovator of the Year.

Kiki Prottsman is a nationally recognized leader in computer science education and the creator of The Educator’s Workshop, an initiative that empowers teachers through hands-on learning, playful lesson design, and meaningful professional development. With more than 15 years of experience in K–12 computer science, Kiki has shaped the way that millions of students and educators engage with coding and computational thinking.
Previously the Director of Education at Microsoft MakeCode, Kiki played a key role in scaling CS access and equity through curriculum development, teacher training, and global partnerships. Her work has bridged the gap between industry innovation and classroom practice, helping districts, states, and countries bring engaging and inclusive CS education to life.
Kiki is also the author of several books, including Let’s All Teach Computer Science, Computational Thinking and Coding for Every Student, and My First Coding Book, all celebrated for making computer science approachable, creative, and fun. A passionate advocate for equity and justice in STEM, her work explores personalized learning and the ethical integration of AI in the classroom.
A frequent keynote speaker and workshop leader, Kiki brings energy, empathy, and a touch of humor to every stage she steps on. Her impact has resulted in numerous accolades, including Google’s RISE Award, the Golden Halo Award for Best Education Campaign, and the Stevie Award for Female Innovator of the Year.
